Between|In a pond where water lilies bloom in summer, a cluster of balloons whose colors shift with the light floats upon the surface. Drifting along the boundary between water and sky, their forms rise as if defying gravity, resembling tiny living beings that belong fully to neither realm. Like the water lilies, which take root in the pond bed, float upon the water, blossom, and sustain the cycle of life, the balloons, released from the pull of gravity, catch the sunlight and reflect the presence of new life.

DAISY BALLOON | Mamiko Hirai “CALL | SIGNAL” will be exhibited at LAG from May 16 (Saturday) – May 30 (Saturday), 2026.
LAG is pleased to present CALL|SIGNAL, an exhibition by DAISY BALLOON|Mamiko Hirai, on view from May 16 (Sat) through May 30 (Sat), 2026.
The exhibition will feature photographic works depicting the cracked surfaces of balloons, a publication accompanying the series, and the record work CALL|SIGNAL, created in collaboration with musician Mamiko Hirai. Through sound expressions using antique instruments and recycled materials, the record work creates a space that moves between vision and sound, material and memory. DAISY BALLOON’s CALL series has developed from an experience in which the artists encountered an injured young girl in a park. The memory of the girl’s wordless voice has remained within the artists, continuously transforming over time. The cracks and fragments appearing on the surfaces of the balloons emerge as images reminiscent of fractured landscapes or the surfaces of unknown planets, tracing the drift and instability of memory itself. Moving between macro and micro perspectives, these images reflect the accumulation of time and the ongoing transformation of memory. The subtle tremors and traces of presence that emerge within them resonate differently within each viewer, responding as individual “SIGNALS.”

On the final day of the exhibition, May 30 (Sat.), a closing event featuring a live performance by Mamiko Hirai and an installation accompanied by a talk by Takashi Kawada of DAISY BALLOON will be held.

DAISY BALLOON | Mamiko Hirai “CALL | SIGNAL” will be exhibited at ONE AND ONLY from April 3 (Friday) – April 12 (Sunday), 2026.
This exhibition will feature framed photographs of balloons with cracked surfaces, a book discussing these works, and a two-disc record set featuring musician Mamiko Hirai and audio made from antique instruments and recycled materials. The aim of CALL is to evoke not only past or future experiences, but also the emotions that arise at the exact moment of an experience. The balloons’ surfaces are like ground fissures or the surfaces of unexplored planets, and when we explore past, present and future from macro and micro perspectives, we notice there are sounds buried beneath the surface. Those sounds that wander, never to take the form of language, echo off of our inner challenges, creating their own unique signals from within.

CAMPER Shibuya PARCO, the concept store that embodies CAMPER "now" opened on Friday, September 19th. For the 50th anniversary event of CAMPER, Standby on Cat Street was covered in an installation of round balloons in CAMPER's signature color to create a visual representation of CAMPER'S new transformation. The red particles that randomly drift around in the store transform into the CAMPER brand signature at times.

Resonance | Memories resonate
Empty spaces are not voids but memories in constant motion.
When matter disappears, what is left is an invisible blueprint.
Forms are merely shadows of phenomena, and the truth vibrates beyond the shadows.
The vibrations of particles are proof of existence itself.

The exhibition “bionic by sputniko!” which showcases the future of biotechnological fashion, is coming to Seibu Shibuya. This exhibition is based on the notion of “what if the future brings clothing created through biological technology?” and is an experimental installation (showing growth during the exhibition) that considers fashion as an extension of the human body that can be generated biologically.
Daisy Balloon will present futuristic fashion adapted to four life scenarios: self-generation (sleep), the ability to extend our bodies to swim efficiently (exercise), to challenge our tastes and TPO (dating), and to give color to a brilliant moment of our lives (wedding).
