We exhibited three installations on the ceiling of the Roppongi Academy Hills corridor (Roppongi Hills 49th floor) for FemtechFes 2022.
Inspired by a microscopic image of bodily hormones, the hovering balloons represent serotonin and adrenaline. The silver balloons are the human body and moving toward it are purple, blue and copper balloons, metaphors for serotonin and adrenaline. The actual balance and movement occuring within our bodies is visualized in this dynamic work.
The music, delivered through 24 hidden speakers in the venue, is based on a physics simulation algorithm created by sound artist KAITO SAKUMA, in which gravity causes musical notes to move and clash with one another to produce music. If neurotransmitters were musical notes, this would be the sound to express their balance and movement.
